SLMcGinnis writes Young Adult Fantasy and Coming of Age Stories featuring strong female leads who grow into the role of heroine with an emphasis on mental health. She promises to make her readers laugh and cry as they connect with their inner child through relatable characters. 

This American writer holds a MFA in English and Creative Writing with a minor in Fantasy and Fiction from Southern New Hampshire University. Her love of all things literature encouraged her to leave the safety of the medical field and pursue a college educator career-with success. As a happy educator in North East Texas, SLMcGinnis gets to bring her love of writing to a whole new world. 

In her free time, she loves writing in her bed with a cup of coffee and her favorite pillow. She started her writing career as a self-published author. While she found some success, SLMcGinnis realized she couldn’t keep up with a full time job on top of writing. She is now represented by Castle Drum Publishing, so she has more time to caffeinate, write, teach, and love on her fur-babies.
